What I do on my days off

Today, I'm getting ready for all my Fall crafts show where I specialize in beaded lanyards.

I'm a nurse and started making them when we had to start wearing a name badge to work. It's manatory. I wanted to make something that would also be functional. I started selling them to co workers and before I knew it, I was doing craft shows and selling on Etsy. It's become quite a hobby and a source of relaxation.

I use the best stones I can find, that will also be strong for everyday use. I wear mine everyday.

I find that wearing them, is also a great source of advertising.

Why do I love craft shows ???

Just came home from a craft show. I wonder why I do them. So much to do.

Book the shows.

Make my craft.

Pack up the car.

Carry all the tables, chairs and stock into the venue.

Set up and wait.

Explain how, when and why I do what I do.

Pack up everything.

Re pack my car.

Organize my stock and restock.

Fall into bed.

All and all, it was a terrific day and I can't wait to do it all again tomorrow!

Fall show season

Oh my goodness, its been a while since I've blogged.
I'm getting ready for my Fall shows and it's been a lot of fun. Creating, organizing is time consuming, but rewarding.
I'm still trying to think of ew ways to make my craft booth more interesting, more shopper friendly. If anyone has any ideas they'd like to share with me, please do.

Upcoming show ideas

Today is sunny, perfect, no humidity. 80 degrees.
I am thinking about upcoming shows and how to get oganized ahead of time.
I need shelter
Looking into canopies with sides, weights for a windy day, heavier displays so they don't blow over.

This article has many ideas for lighting, booth design, item arrangements, table selections.
How much is enough?
I've learned over time that clutter on your table makes for a cheaper looking product. Display your pieces, each one, likes its special (it is).
You will also need a space that is dedicated a workspace for sales. A small table for you money, sales books, bags and any other supplies you'll need. If there is a space available bring along your work so you can work on your craft.
Most of all, comfortable sitting! Hopefully we won't need for too long.
